Description
The Urban Reveries project is a wide-ranging study of possible built responses to urban situations, a repertoire of new principles that may be imagined in a variety of very different urban settings. Like a large open sketch book, the schemes are presented as a stroll through models, photographs and animations presented on screen. Each model is presented as a scene in an urban narrative, carrying the visitor away to a different place. A large number of ideas were produced over the course of a year. Some of these urban tales have since become real projects for cities, as can be seen in the installation. The project brings to light the need to find new ways of embracing nature - plants, animals, water and fire - within the city. These proposals are a reflection on how a city functions and offer a new direction, in the relationship between buildings, the quality of paving, the positioning of a fountain or the planting of a jungle. It is this attention on a human scale that brings people together in the shared delight of these places of collective enchantment
