Imagined Households / Intensified References
Album
Biennale Sneak Peek
Imagined Households / Intensified References displays four digitally made images and their reflection within four virtual rooms. The images contain coded references through which identities are constructed and displacements are channeled. The delocalized referential clichés of comfort and consumption that instigate the desire, or the need, to displace are confined as images within other images inside the impersonal architectures of migration and tourism. Four images that represent four different configurations of an imaginary space of displacement, digitally constructed to reproduce the hyper-reality of intensified references for migrants and tourists. Four reflections; the constructed visions and imaginary references are enhanced by the virtuality of the mirror image and its specular intensification. Four interior spaces that, though configured as rooms, are visible yet inaccessible.

Biennale Sneak Peek
Image 1 – How will we live together?
The transient body of the tourist and the displaced identity of the migrant define a social and political environment characterized by the collapse of space, the expansion of the generic and the reference of intensified images.
Image 2 – Sneak peek of the project
Four interior virtual spaces that, though configured as rooms, are visible but not accessible, empty and dependent on other images inside them that portray imaginary locations, intensified references that circulate through media.
