Classici fuori Mostra

Classici fuori Mostra will present twelve Classic films recently restored by major film libraries around the world, in the original language version with subtitles in Italian. Each film will be introduced by an expert and followed by a question and answer session with the audience. Special discounts are reserved for students (reduced price ticket 3 euro, reduced price pass 25 euro, full price ticket 6 euro).

The series begins with Sbatti il mostro in prima pagina (Slap the Monster on Page One, 1972) by Marco Bellocchio, starring Gian Maria Volonté. The film will be presented on Wednesday January 15th at 7 pm in the world premiere of the 4K version restored by Cineteca di Bologna, in collaboration with Surf film, Kavac Film and Minerva Pictures. It will be introduced by Michele Gottardi. Following on a weekly schedule, every Wednesday, will be Gilda (1946) by Charles Vidor, Vivement Dimanche! (Confidentially Yours!) by François Truffaut, Offret (The Sacrifice, 1986) by Andrei Tarkovsky, L’armée des ombres (Army of Shadows, 1969) by Jean-Pierre Melville, Il giovedì (The Thursday, 1963) by Dino Risi, Shang Hai zhi yen (Shanghai Blues, 1984) by Tsui Hark, The Sugarland Express (1974) by Steven Spielberg, La prima notte di quiete (Indian Summer, 1972) by Valerio Zurlini, After Hours (1985) by Martin Scorsese, Gojira (Godzilla, 1954) by Ishiro Honda, Amadeus (1984) by Milos Forman.

To shape it, to organise it and in some way to ensure in advance that it has the quality to affect our near future just as those films have helped to shape the awareness and cultural identity we are made of. A well-articulated programme, as usual, that ranges from auteur films in the strictest sense and others that have become part of our collective imagination by virtue of their capacity to build spectacular models that leave their mark on our consciences”.
