Description
Children’s playgrounds are one of the most joyful subjects in the history of architecture. Unfortunately, the task of designing them has been increasingly taken out of the hands of architects. It is not a coincidence that playgrounds resemble a rather scary model of human society based on a new localism promoting an idea of perimeter control to keep out all that is feared. The Playful Eight wants to reclaim the subject of playground design for architects. Not only for children but also for adults. As an alternative offer to playgrounds, which are defined by planning regulations, as unsolicited elements offering the possibility to escape control, productivity, and commerce.
