Synopsis
The photographic world of Jerry Schatzberg.
Director’s Statement
I wanted to make a movie about the photographic work of Jerry Schatzberg, known for his features made in the US, among which Scarecrow, Palme d’Or 1973, starring Al Pacino and Gene Hackman. His astounding photos (mainly street, fashion, and film & music stars) comprise emblematic portraits of Faye Dunaway and Bob Dylan, among others. His long-time complicity with Michel Ciment, the French critic who discovered him with the late Pierre Rissient, allowed us to film them both wandering around the latest photo exhibition of Jerry in France.
