A mushroom is a door in the floor. Open it and discover nature’s greatest revelation: an endless underground network secretly feeding life to the world above. And yet, we know more about the surface of the moon than we do about mushrooms. What if we knew more? Using sight, sound, touch and scent, you will experience the complete life-cycle of fungi: spores, mycelium, fruiting body, and the inevitable decay.

Forager celebrates our profound connection with nature. Amid the challenges of the pandemic, a beautiful journey unfolded as we started cultivating mushrooms and marveled at the mesmerizing spectacle of their growth. We wanted to preserve these enchanting moments with utmost authenticity, but we found no suitable tools to do so. This drove us to create our own groundbreaking timelapse photogrammetry pipeline.
We credit Mother Nature as our Art Director, as our unwavering commitment has always been to present these 3D animations of mushroom growth with minimal digital interference, embracing the beauty and complexity of the natural world.
As our project evolved, so did our fascination with mycology, leading us to a profound realization of the pivotal role these life forms play in sustaining our planet’s ecological balance. Forager stems from our passion and tireless experimentation, an ode to the intricate dance of life that mushrooms gracefully partake in. Forager invites audiences to explore the captivating beauty of the unseen world, where time, growth, and the marvels of mycology converge to inspire a deeper connection with our environment.
