synopsis

Ceci est mon cœur is a contemporary tale of an extraordinary love story—the reconciliation of a child with his body. This sensory and narrative creation highlights the distorted perceptions we have of our own bodies. It is an immersive tale in which the audience, wrapped in a connected garment adorned with luminous embroidery, is carried away by a poetic experience that is both oral and visual. Ceci est mon cœur offers a sensory odyssey where the connected garment lights up in sync with the story’s text. A ballet of lights takes shape in response to the narrative, which is conceived as a dialogue between the narrator and his own body. This immersive work is intimate, whole, and organic: from the visual projections and soundscape to the choreography of light moving through the audience, everything seems to breathe and react to the story. The immersive experience lasts 35 minutes and is accessible to all audiences. Ceci est mon cœur celebrates the beauty of human fragility and underscores the importance of self-acceptance.

Main Creators’ Statement

Reclaiming one’s body is a pressing contemporary issue. Ceci est mon cœur serves as an excellent platform for addressing major topics such as body shaming, sexual abuse, school bullying, and depression. We all have a body, and at some point, we all confront it in some way. Very few people are entirely at peace with their bodies. To varying degrees, we all have a conflicted relationship with them. In fact, among the most prevalent concerns among young people today, body image consistently ranks in the top three. However, we firmly believe in the courage found in fragility. Although the story is based on our own intimate experiences, the specific trauma faced by the narrator is not identifiable. As a result, the piece is accessible to anyone, allowing everyone to project their own experiences. Ultimately, Ceci est mon cœur is a genuine love story.
