3 feature films from the Biennale College Cinema selection and 8 short films from the Orizzonti selection are available online.

The Sala web theatre

The Sala Web theatre of the Venice International Film Festival – organised with enduring success for the past 12 years by La Biennale di Venezia – this year presents 3 feature-length films from the Biennale College – Cinema selectionthe prestigious international laboratory for making micro budget, feature-length films that celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2022 - and 8 short films from the Orizzonti selection (the latter may be viewed free of charge) online.

These are important films, world premiere screenings, from the Official Selection of the 80th Venice International Film Festival (30 August – 9 September 2023), which can be viewed in streaming, at the same time as the official presentations of the movies at the Lido, with a limited capacity.

This is a special opportunity to discover short films that represent the most innovative aesthetic and expressive trends in world cinema, as well as feature-length movies by emerging, international directors making their first or second films.

Short Films
The 8 short films, available free of charge worldwide, may be viewed from the website www.labiennale.org, with screenings hosted on behalf of the Venice Film Festival on the website operated by Festival Scope (www.festivalscope.com).

Feature Films
The 3 feature-length films, limited to viewers within the territory of Italy, and selected from the Biennale College - Cinema section of the 80th Venice Film Festival, may be watched from the website www.labiennale.org, in screenings hosted on the website operated by MYmovies.it at the address www.mymovies.it/ondemand/biennalecinema/, on the Biennale Cinema Channel streaming platform.

The 3 feature films from the Biennale College - Cinema selection, made after the 11 edition in 2022-2023, include the Italian L’anno dell’uovo / The Year of the Egg by Claudio Casale (debut film), Árni by Dorka Vermes (debut film) from Hungary and Lumbrensueño / Firedream from Mexico by José Pablo Escamilla (second feature).

These three feature-length movies screened at the Sala Web theatre will join the library of the In-Competition, Out-of-Competition, and Orizzonti sections of the editions of the Venice Film Festival that were held between 2007 and 2020.
