Heirloom. Above ground, a world on fire, a landscape of loss and ruin. Underground, two women sustain life in a dark orchard, surviving on scraps of memory. This is vital for one, toxic to the other. What do narratives of history, belonging, and heritage still mean when one world is destroyed and a new world holds an uncertain future? Does it make sense to cling to remnants of the past and reproduce its myths and constructs? Is this what defines us, or is survival rooted in something else? These questions are at the heart of Heirloom, an otherworldly rumination on life, memory, and identity after ecological disaster.
