Description
The Stronger We Become. This exhibition seeks to present a multifaceted visual discourse on social resilience. The title captures the anti-fragile nature of the spirit of South Africa and the resilience of its people, as well as its political and economic systems. Dineo Seshee Bopape, Tracey Rose, and Mawande Ka Zenzile have been specifically selected to craft a vision in which the spirit of the socio-political moment in South Africa today is not only presented but revealed for its deeply dialogical nature. The collective practices of the artists engender conversations that can enable ways of thinking critically about where, as a nation, we have come from, where we are, and where we are going. The exhibition intends to present the ways in which the artists show resilience and resistance as correlative.
