Biennale College Cinema
Three of the feature films which will be screened at the 76th Venice Film Festival have been selected, developed, and produced during the seventh edition (2018/2019) of Biennale College – Cinema, an advanced training laboratory, launched at the 2012 Venice Film Festival, which is open to young filmmakers from all over the world for the production of low-budget films. The three films are:

Biennale College – Cinema, created by La Biennale di Venezia, is supported by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities – Cinema Head Office. One of the Biennale College – Cinema sponsors is Pegaso Online University. Another sponsor of the project is Condé Nast. Academic collaboration is provided to Biennale College – Cinema by IFP in New York and TorinoFilmLab. The Laboratory’s Director is Alberto Barbera and the Head of Programme is Savina Neirotti.
Starting from 2017, Biennale College – Cinema receives a contribution from Eurimages, the cultural fund of the European Council, to cover the travel, accommodation, and training expenses for a female director (Eurimages Residency Grant). This year, the recipient is Kasia Plazinska (Poland), the director of the film False Positive, one of the projects that took part in the international workshop in October 2018.
