Agrupación Señor Serrano - The Mountain
Description
There is a widespread image which retraces the history of ideas: climbing a mountain, overcoming difficulties to reach the peak and, once there, being able to see the world “as itis”. Reaching the truth and notjust shadows and reflections. It’s an attractive image to all intents and purposes. But is this really the way it is?
Often looking down from above all we can see is clouds and fog covering everything or a landscape which changes by time of day or weather. So, what is this world like? Whatis this truth like? Does truth exist? Is the truth a peak to crown and that’s that, or rather a cold and inhospitable path which must be constantly travelled? The first Everest expedition whose outcome is still uncertain; Orson Welles causing panic with his radio programme War of the Worlds; badminton players playing baseball; a fake news website; a drone observing the public; a great deal of snow; mobile screens, fragmented images; and Vladimir Putin expressing his satisfaction with trust and truth: all this converges in The Mountain.
